July 2026 DBTC Ride Schedule 


Wednesday, July 1st:

9:00 FUN PLUS H2-26 Miles SW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at the west end of the parking lot for the Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood 80110). We will ride the South Platte, go up Dartmouth Ave. to Dahlia St. Happy Canyon, proceed to Quincy Ave. to Clarkson to the High Line Canal, and neighborhood streets to Mineral then return on the South Platte. Bring your lunch to socialize after the ride.

9:00 AM FUN-H2-25 miles-SW CLEMENT PARK LOOP with a Twist Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) in the West Parking Lot behind the library. The Clement Park Loop is west along Lily Gulch Trail out to C-470, Some climbing but then cruise down on C-470 Trail and cut over and finish our sail down Deer Creek Road. A quick bump over the dam and then catch Mary Carter Greenway, returning to Clement Park via the Columbine Valley neighborhood. Sorry, I won’t picnic today, but you are welcome to.


Thursday, July 2nd:

NEW RIDE

9:30 AM MTB P2 T2 Genesee Mountain Park and Evergreen. Meet Steve Farley at the top parking lot of Denver Parks and Recreation, Genesee Mountain Park. Take exit 254 on I-70 to get to the park. Go across the I-70 highway bridge and make a right turn to ascend to the top parking area. We will change this up from the normal Genesse loop, we will start the loop from the top, counter clockwise and ride downhill, however we will cross the I-70 bridge and then ride the paved bike path to Evergreen Parkway, 2.5 miles. Along the way is another of the original Genesee shelters and we will ride along the north bison pasture and visit an interesting display of the history of the bison at Genessee. We will return the same way and resume our MTB route, pass the Patrick house and come back up along the south bison pasture. We will ride to the flag pole parking lot and then a short walk to the summit at 8284 feet for 360-degree views. About a 12-mile total ride and 700 feet of elevation gain. Hopefully we will see the buffalo and I have seen bear in the park. Patriotic attire is acceptable. All riders must sign-in at the start to officially be on the ride.
Post ride Bring a chair and lunch/snacks for after ride socializing in the parking lot.


Friday, July 3rd

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-25-SW (ELEV GAIN = 1576) Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) to celebrate our 250th birthday with THE GREAT AMERICAN DINOSAUR RIDE 2026!!! The adventure begins at the Lakewood Heritage Center at Belmar Park at Ohio Street on the west side of Wadsworth, north of Mississippi and South of Alameda. We will tour the park then head west to Dinosaur Ridge and Red Rocks where we will stop for breaks. Then we will continue on down through Morrison and Bear Creek Trail and return north to Belmar Park. The first 100 attendees will ride for free!!! Lunch options will be discussed.


Sunday, July 5th:

8:00 AM FUN -H1-24-30 NE. ROCKY MOUNTAIN ARSENAL RIDE Meet Cyndy Klepinger (303.725.1565) at Cake Crumbs, 2216 Kearney. We’ll ride city streets north to the Sand Creek Trail, ride toward Northfield area and Rocky Mountain Arsenal. We will return by way of bike lanes and Central Park Greenway trails. Ride limited to 10 riders, to reserve a spot, text Cyndy at 303.725.1565. We’ll have the opportunity to get a snack at Cake Crumbs after the ride. Monday, July 6th:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-22-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Anderson Park (44th & Field) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to Easley Rd, which we will take north to the Blunn Trail. After a break on the west side of the Westwoods Golf Course, we will return through Arvada neighborhoods on 50th and 52nd avenues and through Wheat Ridge neighborhoods to the park. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Tuesday, July 7th

8:00 AM. FUN-H2-22-W-1100’ elev. gain “2026- BIRTHDAY-GIRL RIDE!” kicks off July 2026 Sweets Rides! REGISTER BY TEXT (303-905-8510) to leader by July 6, 5:00PM MEET 08:00. Join birthday-girl Marilyn Choske at Wheat Ridge Rec Center north parking lot near Kipling St, Wheat Ridge. Nice, no-rush, casual pace for this westbound loop to Golden and the Peaks-to-Prairies *newly extended* trail & return. Some hills up, some down! Birthday cake & iced tea at the end of ride. Limit 10 riders, including leader. The ride will not go if it is rainy or the forecast is for morning rain. Call the leader if in doubt.

9:30 AM FUN PLUS H2 20 miles NE Twin Lakes to Westminster Rec Center Meet Fred Tarbell (630-888-5290) at Twin Lakes 226-318 W 70th Ave, (1/4 mi West of Broadway and 70th) We will continue West on Clear Creek to junction, (slight right) of Little Dry Creek trail. Follow Little Dry Creek West to Lowell Blvd intersection. Turn North on Lowell Blvd on sidewalks for about 7 blocks. At Lowell Blvd and 78 Ave junction connect to US 36 Bikeway on the Left. Continue West on US 36 bikeway toward Westminster. In Westminster we exit right off US 36 Bikeway under US 36 highway and follow connecting trail to the Westminster Rec center. A break for water and restrooms at the Center with water available. We return on a different route by Bradburn Blvd to Little Dry Creek to Twin Lakes. Welcome to bring snacks or lunch items if you want to visit at Twin Lakes after the ride. 


Wednesday, July 8th:

8:00 AM LEISURE-H1-17-NW Meet Jake Jacobi (720-808-2306) at Twin Lakes, near Broadway and 70th Ave. We will ride east on Clear Creek, and North along the Platte River to Valente Lake at 104th and return. Optional lunch afterwards.

9:00 AM FUN-H1-30 SW Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Bout Time! 3580 S Platte River Drive A in Sheridan for a ride on the Platte River Trail to the Cherry Creek Trail to the Highline Canal then DOWN Dartmouth. This is a very pretty, pleasant ride with a gradual upstream followed by a great downhill and lunch at Bout Time! (bring $). There are no bathrooms at the start, but there is a Starbucks when you turn from Hampden into Riverpoint.

9:00 FUN PLUS, H3, 24 miles, 2000’ Meet Diane Short at the WalMart at the El Rancho exit, far west end closest to Bergen Parkway. Ride past the Bergen Park RTD and onto Mountain Meadow Rd, Snyder Gulch (old road, in disrepair, but rideable on road bike), to Pine Valley (old Squaw Pass) loop back to CO 103 to Buchanan Rec. Center for rest stop then another loop into the Bergen Park neighbor hoods. Call the leader to register: 303-271-9642 (land Line) 4 riders to RSVP for ride to go. NOT on Meet Up so doesn’t count.


Thursday, July 9th:

8:30 AM FUN-H3-24-NW (Elevation Gain = 1207 feet) Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE GREAT TOTEM POLE RIDE AKA THE HIDDEN GEMS OF INTERLOCKEN! Actually, the totem poles are gone now but...This exciting ride full of twists and turns uses portions of the new Hwy. 36 Trail to take us on a loop that includes the hidden gems of Flatirons Mall, Interlocken, Standley Lake, and Rock Creek Village! We will meet at the Rock Creek Village Safeway, which is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Rd., Superior). This ride is now 99.99% on paved trails. 


Friday, July 10th

9:00 AM. INT-H3-24-1800’ elev gain. “EMPIRE ICE CREAM RIDE” MEET 09:00am. REGISTER BY TEXT (303-905-8510) to leader by July 9, 5:00PM. Meet Marilyn Choske for this Idaho Springs-to-Empire ride. Drive/meet directions follow description. Pedal on bikepath/trail thru Idaho Springs, onto Stanley Road and Hwy 40 to Empire Dairy King. NOTE–there is no good shoulder on Hwy 40 to climb up to Empire; use caution. Dairy King opens at **11:00AM**. (We sometimes have to wait a few mins) Bring $ to purchase and enjoy your ice cream treat. Return the same route. CASUAL pace to and ZIPPITY-DO-DAH from Empire (mostly downhill). Limit 8 riders, including leader. Ride won’t go if rainy or forecast is for morning rain; call the leader if in doubt. ==> DIRECTIONS: I-70 Exit 241. Take first RIGHT at the exit roundabout and follow the road up & over I-70. Just past the green sign, turn RIGHT towards County Road 314 (if you miss this turn, you’re back on eastbound I-70!). Turn RIGHT at the stop sign & continue to the ballpark ahead and park on the north side of the park. Look for the leader’s red Kia Sportage w/bike rack.


Saturday, July 11th

7:30 AM FUN-H1-20 NE GRAVEL RIDE – ROCKY MOUNTAIN ARSENAL Meet Cyndy Klepinger (303.725.1565) at the parking lot for the Visitor Center at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, 6550 Gateway Road. We will ride the gravel trails through the Arsenal, trails are fairly smooth, but do have loose gravel. Ride limited to 10 riders, to reserve a spot, text Cyndy at 303.725.1565. 9:00 AM LEISURE-H2-18/23-NW Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE SPACE, TIME, 9/11 RIDE or THE HIDDEN GEMS OF BROOMFIELD! This adventure begins near the SE corner of Sheridan and 120th at the new Whole Foods in Westminster (1/2 mile east of Sheridan at Vrain and 120th.) Address is 4451 Main Street. We will take secret trails around Broomfield and Westminster where we will experience three incredible hidden displays including THE SOLAR SYSTEM, a brief history of GEOLOGIC COLORADO TIME, and a 9/11 MONUMENT. (This ride has an escape option at the 18 mile marker for riders who run out of time and/or steam.) Possible lunch afterwards at Whole Foods. This adventure has received rave reviews with 4 and a half stars from the ride critics!


Sunday, July 12th:

Monday, July 13th:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-22-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Crown Hill Park (26th & Garrison) for a ride northeast through Wheat Ridge neighborhoods to the Clear Creek Trail, where we will ride west to Golden. After a break at Parfet Park, we will ride back via 32nd and 26th avenues. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward. 


Tuesday, July 14th:

7:45 AM. FUN PLUS-H3-29-NW-1291’ elev gain. “SCRUMPTIOUS FUN BLUNN RUN!” REGISTER BY TEXT (303-905-8510) to leader by July 13, 5:00PM. MEET 07:45. Join Marilyn Choske at Anderson Park, 44th & Field St, Wheat Ridge – back parking lot near big pavilion. Clear Creek Trail west to Tucker Gulch, north on Hwy 93 to Van Bibber Trail. North for climbing over Blunn (aka Arvada) Reservoir, Ralston Creek Trail into Arvada for Scrumptious Ice Cream stop (bring $ for your treat), and return. Trails and bike-friendly streets. Pace 10-14mph. Ride will not go if rainy or forecast is for morning rain; call the leader if in doubt. Limit 8 riders, including leader!

9:00 AM FUN-H1- 25 miles NE Rotella Park to Sand Creek and Northfield Loop Meet Fred Tarbell (630-888-5290) at Rotella Park, 1824 Coronado Pkwy N. Denver (East end at shelter one) We will connect to the Niver Creek bike path and ride East to South Platte trail junction. South on Platte bike path to left over Clear Creek bridge to Denver. Follow Platte bike path South to the Sand Creek trail junction on left. Follow Sand Creek trail to the Sand Creek Greenway and do a big loop around urban Central Park. At 13 miles a midride stop at Starbucks for bathroom and refreshment. After our break we continue along Central Park Blvd to the North Field Mall. We extend our ride by another loop around urban Prairie Basin and Meadow Basin Parks. Return on Sand Creek to Twin Lakes for recovery, socializing, and lunch that you brought. Bring money for your Starbucks break.

Thursday, July 16th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-25-NW NEW & IMPROVED WESTMINSTER CLASSIC Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for an exciting ride full of unexpected twists, turns, and surprises...and now with BRAND NEW TRAILS. We will meet at the parking lot by the Armed Forces Tribute Garden, WEST of the baseball diamonds in Westminster City Park. (Directions: From US 36 and Church Ranch Blvd/104th Ave. exit, east on 104th about 1/2 mile to the first left after the Westminster Blvd light (just past the Armed Forces Tribute Garden), then go LEFT again into the parking lot. The address for the park is 10455 Sheridan Blvd but note again that we are meeting WEST of the buildings and baseball fields.) This ride takes us through the Westminster, Northglenn, and Thornton area, including the Farmer’s Highline Canal, Lee Lateral, and Grange Hall Creek trails.


Friday, July 17th:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H1-23-SE Meet Susan Larson (720-207-7300) at Village Greens Park (9501 East Union Avenue, Greenwood Village) for a ride north on the Highline Canal, into Aurora picking up the Tollgate Creek Trail and finishing on the Cherry Creek Spillway Trail. About halfway we’ll make a stop at Milly’s Community Cafe for a break and a treat. Bring money for your treat and a sack lunch or snacks to enjoy after the ride. The ride is limited to 10 riders. Sunday, July 19th:

8:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2-28 N (774 feet of elevation gain) – The Great Moon Landing Ride AKA THE HIDDEN GEMS OF Thornton/Northglenn/Westminster!!! Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this somewhat new Hidden Gems adventure around the tri cities and other nearby areas highlighted by Clear Creek, Platte River (including the infamous Thornton Ponds,) backwards on the Highline Canal, HWY 36 Trail, and Little Dry Creek. To do this loop right we need to go 28 miles but it will be well worth the effort! We will meet at Twin Lakes Park (west of Broadway on 70th Ave). Bring food for a post-ride picnic lunch at beautiful Twin Lakes Park.


Monday, July 20th:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Anderson Park (44th & Field) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to Easley Rd, which we will take to the Ralston Creek Trail. After a break, we will then ride the entire length of the Ralston Creek Trail returning via the Clear Creek Trail and back to the park. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Tuesday, July 21st (FOUR RIDES): 

7:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25-SE HIGH PLAINS TRAIL New ride! Meet Cyndy Klepinger (303.725.1565) at Village Green, 9501 E Union Ave, Greenwood Village for a loop ride on the trail. We will ride through the Park, then cross over Parker Road on the NEW bridge and then ride the High Plains Trail, along C-470 to Piney Creek Trail. There are some short climbs. Pace will be 12 to 14 mph. Ride limited to 10 riders, so to reserve a spot, text Cyndy at 303.725.1565.

9:00 FUN PLUS-H3, 22 to 27 miles, 1200 to 1800’ gain Meet Diane Short at the closed Forest Service station on the west side of Highway 103 at the 240 exit off of I-70 at the west end of Idaho Springs. Take bike paths and frontage roads to Georgetown and back. Add 5 miles and 600 ft of gain by taking the bike path on up to Silver Plume – magnificent views of Clear Creek and the Rail Road Four riders required to RSVP to me at 303-271-9642 (land line) in order for the ride to go. Not on Meet Up.

9:00 AM LEISURE-H1-17-SW. LEE GULCH LOOP Meet Jill McMahon (303 888-0314 cell) at the Aspen Grove Shopping Center parking lot in the very southeast corner (south of the Alamo Drafthouse which is 7301 S Santa Fe Dr Unit #850, Littleton.) This is a loop ride on the Platte River Trail, the Big Dry Creek Trail, the Highline Trail and the Lee Gulch Trail. It winds around some very pretty areas - mostly on paved trails but some gravel and a short distance on residential streets. There will be an optional lunch afterwards at Piccino’s . Bring a snack, and money for lunch if you plan to join us.

9:30 AM FUN- H1-21 mile NE Twin Lakes to Prospect Park and Return Meet Fred Tarbell (630-888-5290) at Twin Lakes (300 West 70th Ave, 1/8 West of Broadway) Denver. Ride West on Clear Creek toward Golden on paved paths. Bathroom break/regroup at Wheat Ridge Rec Center before continuing to Prospect Park. After our break there we will return by the same route. Expect a 2 hr ride at 11 to 13 mph with breaks. Bring your own lunch or snacks to stay and visit after the ride at Twin Lakes. 


Wednesday, July 22nd:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-21 miles SW Reverse of the Roller Coaster Meet Patty Gaspar 303-618-5069 at Broken Tee Golf Course 2101 W Oxford Ave, Englewood to go up Big Dry Creek, catch Clarkson and cross Arapahoe Road at the new light (YEAH!). Thursday, July 23rd:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-21 NW (1541 ft of elevation gain) – HIDDEN GEMS OF GOLDEN JUGGLING RIDE!!! Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this Hidden Gems adventure around beautiful Golden as we celebrate Labor Day Weekend. We will meet at Clear Creek Parking Lot at the NE corner of 10th and Archer (304 10th St, Golden, CO 80401) in Golden and ride the Golden Circle, Peaks to Plains and beyond to Heritage Park and other unexplored areas including, I promise you, a rose garden. Riders will be rewarded for their climbing around Golden with a high altitude juggling act at Heritage Dells Park before the descent begins.


Friday, July 24th:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2 (~1500’ Elevation)-36 miles-SW Meet Susan Larson at the west end of the parking lot at Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood) for a loop that includes the South Platte, Chatfield State Park, a little bit of road, Bear Creek State Park and the Bear Creek Trail. We will bike up Mount Carbon in Bear Creek State Park. This ride is hilly with the biggest hill being Mount Carbon. On the way back we will stop at Andy’s Frozen Custard for a sweet treat! Bring money for your treat and a sack lunch or snacks to enjoy after the ride. The ride is limited to 10 riders. Please sign up on Meetup for this ride.


Saturday, July 25th: CLUB PICNIC at Anderson Park Lunch 11:30

7:30 AM. FUN PLUS PLUS -H3-32-1700’ elev gain. “2026 SUMMER PICNIC NW LOOP” REGISTER BY TEXT (303-905-8510) to leader by July 24, 5:00PM. MEET 07:30. Join Marilyn Choske at Anderson Park, back parking lot, for this ambitious counter-clockwise loop route. Ride north to Arvada hills, then west to go over Blunn (aka Arvada) Reservoir from the east. Short dirt trail to--then thru--Golden neighborhood, then a short ride around the east entrance area of White Ranch. If too early to return to Anderson, we’ll take group consensus to stop for a cool coffee or tea refresher beverage; bring $ for your purchase. Then easy riding back to the picnic!

8:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Anderson Park (44th & Field) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to the Peaks to Plains Trail, which we will take to the current construction point at the CCR Trailhead. After a break at the trailhead, we will return via the same route to enjoy the picnic.

9:00 AM FUN H1-18 Miles A Short, Shady Ride and then RELAX Join Patty Gaspar (303) 618-5069 for a jaunt down the trail from Anderson to Twin Lakes and back: Just a shady ride on a hot day for those not feeling too ambitious… Helen Berkman will lead a Picnic Leisure ride. Sunday, July 26th:

9:00 AM LEISURE-H2-21-NW Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE TRIPLE LOOP HIDDEN ARVADA GEMS 2.0 Experience this somewhat new exciting ride that takes us from a central point out to three separate loops that are about 7 miles each. You can do one, two, or all three of these fabulous loops. Loop 1 goes west by Rose Roots Community Garden to the Village of Five Parks. Loop 2 goes south by the Lakecrest Cluster and Clubcrest Parks to beautiful Majestic View Park. Loop 3 goes north by Oakhurst Parks 1 and 2 to Standley Lake. Meet at the center of the three loops at the Standley Lake Library parking lot at 8485 Kipling Street in Arvada where the action begins!


Monday, July 27th:

Tuesday, July 28th:

7:45 AM. INT-H4-25-2470’ elev gain. “THE SWEET GEORGETOWN-TO-LOVELAND-VALLEY-&-RETURN RIDE ” REGISTER BY TEXT (303-905-8510) to leader by July 27, 5:00PM. MEET 07:45am. Join Marilyn Choske in Georgetown (location TBA to registrants) and pedal up–via bikepaths and quiet roads–to Silver Plume and on to Bakerville’s 5-mile bikepath that spills us out onto Hwy 6 just below the Loveland Valley ski area lodge, where everyone will take a (longer) snack break. Return the same way for a dy-no-mite descent and stopping en route at Georgetown Valley Candy Company for ice cream for your efforts, *compliments of DBTC*! If you’ve been riding and conditioning yourself for a real challenge, join us for this adventure. Because it’s an out-and-back, you’re welcome to turn around at any time, and we’ll meet you back in G-town for ice cream. CASUAL uphill pace, meaning at YOUR comfortable pace. 9:00 AM-12:00 PM FUN PLUS-H2/3- 27-SE, 1,600 ft elevation gain Meet Bill Monroe 630-386-7935 at The Pinery Trailhead, 6662 N Pinery Pkwy, Parker, CO 80134 (It’s a dead end road but it is the right road. Go to the end) . This ride is all on paved trails from Parker to Castle Rock and back. We will ride the Cherry Creek Trail, McMurdo Gulch Trail, Woodlands Trail, Hangman’s Gulch Trail and Plum Creek Trail. There are a few road crossings but no road riding. We will have several water breaks/ rest stops as needed. Turn around will be at the Festival Park in downtown Castle Rock. 9:00 AM NE FUN PLUS- H2- 27 miles Rotella Park to E.B. Rains Park, Northglenn Meet Fred Tarbell (630-888-5290) at Rotella Park, East end at Shelter 1, 1824 Coronado Pkwy S., Denver. Bike East on Niver Creek to South Platte trail and turn North. Follow the Platte Trail to left junction of The Grange Hall Creek trail. Follow the trail to Margaret Carpenter Park crossing 104th Ave. Bathroom break at Carpenter Park before continuing on a green way trail through Thornton and Northglenn suburbs. Turn North along the East side of I-25 interstate to arrive at E.B. Rains Park. A break for snacks and water, before returning the same route to Rotella Park. Bring snacks or lunch items if you want to socialize and recover after the ride.


Wednesday, July 29th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-20 miles-SE Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Village Greens Park – NE corner of Union and Dayton for a loop ride from the park through Denver and Aurora on trails and then a lap around the reservoir on our return. We haven’t been there for a while so it seems like something we should do. Bring lunch for a picnic after.


Thursday, July 30th: Merri's Birthday Ride

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H3-25-SW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Broken Tee Golf Course (west end of parking lot at 2101 W. Oxford in Englewood). We will ride the South Platte Trail north to the Bear Creek Trail, which we will take west over the Bear Creek Dam to Morrison. After a break, we will return via Morrison Rd to Fox Hollow Golf Course where we will meet up with the Bear Creek Trail and ride back to the start. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Friday, July 31:

9:00 AM INT-H4-39 miles -2160’ Meet Lauren Delle (970-903-8409) at Summit County Middle School Parking lot. We will start the ride in Frisco on the Summit County bike path around Lake Dillon, through Keystone and up to the town of Montezuma. We will retrace our steps to return. This is a climbing at elevation ride so it is important to have some climbing conditioning, and also important to bring appropriate layers. E-bikes welcome. Bring sack lunch to eat in a local Frisco park post-ride. Directions: I-70 West Frisco Exit 203, take a roundabout exit that leads south onto the bridge crossing I-70. Continue south on Summit Blvd (Hwy 9) to the stoplight intersection of School Rd and CR 1040. Turn left onto School Rd. Bring lunch for a picnic in a local park after the ride. The ride will not go if early monsoon storms are predicted.
