June 2021 DBTC Ride Schedule 

 

Tuesday, June 1 

9:30 AM  LEISURE-H1-21-NE   Meet Carolyn Roberts (303-880-8672) We’re going to take the Platte bike trail north, starting at Rotella Park in Denver, all the way to the Adams County Fairgrounds, out and back—total mileage about 21 miles.  It’s slightly downhill going out, so slightly uphill coming back—elevation change about 450 feet. The bikeway is mostly paved with a few short gravel areas due to construction. We’ll meet at the west end of the park, 1824 Coronado Pkwy N.  There are bathrooms there and a few along the trail.  At the fairgrounds we’ll stop for a little snack before turning back.  We will also stop for periodic water breaks, any cool birds, and a couple of fine wood carvings along the way.

10:00 AM, MTB, P2-3, T2-3, Easy Cooler Lunch Ride - Elk Meadow.  The Easy Cooler Tuesday Lunch Rides are organized by Liz Cameron.   These are Show’nGo Rides:  The folks who show up decide what to ride.   A ride is scheduled every Tuesday thru the summer.  Look at Meetup.com under the DBTC group for location and time.  Today’s ride is at Elk Meadow near Bergen Park.  Meet in the Buchanan Recreation Center parking lot.  THE DIRECTIONS:Located at intersection of Colo Hwy 74 (Evergreen Parkway) and Squaw Pass (Colo Hwy 103).  From I-70: Take exit 252 for Evergreen Parkway. Continue for roughly 3 miles to intersection of 74 and 103. Turn left at traffic light; Buchanan Park rec center and Tuscany Tavern are located in this complex adjacent to the softball fields.  From downtown Evergreen, follow Hwy 74 up to intersection of 74 and 103.  Or load directions to 32003 Ellingwood Trail, Evergreen 80439.  POSTRIDE:   Bring a chair and food for a post ride picnic in the parking lot.    


Wednesday, June 2nd:

10:00 AM (was 9:00 AM) FUN-H2-20 SE Meet Suzy Ward (720-355-3268) for the first in a series of ice cream rides . We’ll start at the Crown Hill Park (near Kipling and 26th Ave) and ride to one of the great ice cream shops located in Bonnie Brae. DBTC will treat everyone to a scoop.

 

Thursday, June 3: 

9:00AM FUN-H3-22-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Prospect Park (44th & Robb St) for a ride west along the Clear Creek Trail to Easley Rd, which we will take to the Arvada Reservoir.  We will ride a loop over the reservoir and back to the start via the same route.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterwards.

 

Next Tri Training ride

1:00 pm FUN- H2 Meet Suzanne Carter (email equinelites@aol.com or call voice 720-480-6521 (no text, I just don’t text). We will meet at the Fox Hollow Golf Club restaurant called THE DEN (where the golf- bag rack is) right behind the 2 golfer statues, for a 10- mile ride and a 2mile walk. For the ride, we will head west on Bear Creek Trail and we will go over the dam. The ride will be an out and back. We will ride to the Swim Beach where the swim will take place, then we will ride back and lock bikes on cars and go for a 2-mile walk. In July, we will add a practice swim.


Friday, June 4th:

8:30 AM FUN-H1/H2-24-NE. BOOKS AND BIKES ADVENTURE. All you bookies out there, meet Helen Berkman (720-355-5687) at Cake Crumbs, 2216 Kearney St, for a city adventure ride to BookBar.  All-new route, with a new greenway! mountain views! an elevator ride! and a cool indie bookshop! Our destination is the BookBar in Highlands, a charming bookstore you need to see if you’ve never been there. We’ll loop back on a three parks route via Sloan’s Lake, Cheesman, and City Parks. This will be a no-drop, slightly slower FUN ride, and we’ll spend up to a half-hour in BookBar or its neighborhood, hence the 8:30 am start time. Bring a pannier or small backpack if you want to buy a book!

 

Saturday, June 5th:

9:00 AM FUN -H2-18/23-NW-Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE SPACE, TIME, 9/11 RIDE or THE HIDDEN GEMS OF BROOMFIELD! This adventure begins near the SE corner of Sheridan and 120th at the new Whole Foods in Westminster (1/2 mile east of Sheridan at Vrain and 120th.) (4451 Main Street 303-439-7000) We will take secret trails around Broomfield where we will experience three incredible hidden displays including THE SOLAR SYSTEM, a brief history of GEOLOGIC COLORADO TIME, and a 9/11 MONUMENT. (This ride has an escape option at the 18 mile marker for riders who run out of time and/or steam.) Possible lunch afterwards at Whole Foods. This adventure has received rave reviews with 4 and a half stars from the ride critics!


Sunday, June 6th

9:00 AM FUNPLUS/INT-H-1-36 Miles-N.Meet Peter Woulfe(540-219-6674) cell at Twin Lakes Park, 300 West 70th (just west of Broadway). Ride east along Clear Creek and then north along The South Platte River to Veterans Park in Brighton. Then return the same way. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic in the park afterwards.

10:30 AM, MTB, P2-3, T2.5, Marshall Mesa / Dowdy Draw.
This is a "blue" or moderate level ride. Some trail sections are also quite rocky. This is a ride for intermediate level riders.

Our annual Memorial Day weekend fun trail event, now rescheduled. A ride we look forward to making every spring. This year should be spectacular.
Meet at the northeast corner of Hwy 93/170 (Marshall Road) intersection. Park in the dirt lot on north side of road. Starting there, upon crossing road to the actual Marshall Mesa trailhead, we will be riding Marshall Valley trail east to Community Ditch, then taking that trail back west, crossing wooden bridge to then ride Greenbelt Plateau trail south. That trail ends by Hwy 120. At the stoplight for Hwy 93/120, cross west to enter the Doudy Draw park system.

Ride the southern side Prairie Vista trail, find the trail dropping down to Doudy Draw, descend and ride that to the intersection for the Springbrook loop. Take Springbrook trails in a counterclockwise direction. After finishing there, ride the Doudy Draw trail north to Community Ditch, take that back east and under Hwy 93, then finish on the fast Coal Seam trail. This is about 13 miles. Other trails can be ridden at each person's individual preference. Finish time is around 1:00 PM.

Refresh at Southern Sun brewpub. Please remember, Southern Sun is a CASH ONLY restaurant. Bring cash to pay or use the ATM by their entrance.

Note, those with good memories will recall that about 3 years out of 4 this ride has has happened without any weather problems. The 1 year out of 4 has required either an alternative ride or postponement. So keep an eye for updates as the day draws near. YES, THIIS WAS THE CASE THIS YEAR!

Monday, June 7th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-25-NW  Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Crown Hill Park (26th & Garrison) for a ride south to Alameda Ave and then west to Morrison via Rooney Rd. We will then return via Morrison Rd and the Bear Creek Trail to the Stone House and then north back to Crown Hill via Lakewood neighborhoods.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterwards.


Tuesday June 8th:

9:30AM LEISURE H1-19-SE Aurora Reservoir  Meet Dave Noble (home 303-694-2008, cell day of ride 303-906-3163) at the Walmart (6101 S. Aurora Parkway) in the Southlands Shopping Center to ride a couple times around Aurora Reservoir.  (Directions to the Walmart:  From South Parker Road, go East on Arapahoe Road for about 5.8 miles (past E470) to Aurora Parkway.  Go north (left) on Aurora Parkway about 1 mile to Commons Avenue.  Go west (left) into the Walmart parking lot).  Lunch at one of the nearby restaurants with a patio.

9:00AM FUN-H1-25-SW  Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at the Tennis Bubble (Federal & Bowles) for a ride north on the South Platte Trail to REI.  After a break we will return via the same route.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterwards.

10:00 AM, MTB, P2,T2, Easy Cooler Lunch Ride - Alderfers/Three Sisters Park.  The Easy Cooler Tuesday Lunch Rides are organized by Liz Cameron (303-619-7897).   These are Show’nGo Rides:  The folks who show up decide what to ride.   A ride is scheduled every Tuesday thru the summer.  Look at Meetup.com under the DBTC group for location and time.  Today’s ride is at Alderfer/Three Sisters in Evergreen.  THE DIRECTIONS: Go to the signalized “T” intersection in downtown Evergreen, then south on Hwy 73 for ½ mile to another signal at Buffalo Park Road. Turn right (west) for 2.2 miles and enter the upper Alderfer parking lot just beyond the bright yellow house in the meadow.   POSTRIDE:   Bring a chair and food for a post ride picnic in the parking lot.   


Wednesday, June 9th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2- 20to25-SW Meet at Hildebrand Ranch parking lot, Jefferson County Open Space, 9880 West Deer Creek Canyon Road, Littleton 80126. Join Patsy Venema (720.934.3498) for a ride into Chatfield Park and loop back to the parking area for optional picnic lunch. A chair or sitting cushion recommended since there may not be any tables. 

10:00 AM, MTB, P2/3, T2, Buffalo Creek.  Meet Steve Thomas (303-419-2531) at the Buffalo Creek parking lot, 2.6 miles south of Pine on highway 126.  We will go up Nice Kitty to the Colorado Trail to Shinglemill then back to the parking lot on the Buffalo Creek road, or we may try the new Tramway trail.  The entire ride would be around 16-18 miles.  We will go to a restaurant in Pine after the ride. 


Thursday, June 10th: 

8:15 AM LEISURE/FUN/ATB Ride H2-20 SW meet Lin Hark (mtnlin08@gmail.com or 303-578-9369) at The Fort Restaurant (Hwy 285 & Hwy 8) for carpool to start OR 9:30 AM Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) cell at the historic South Platte Hotel. Hybrid or mountain bike is preferred but a road bike will work, the surface  of River Road is very rough.This is a beautiful ride  along the North Fork of the South Platte River. We will ride from trailhead to Green Mercantile in Buffalo Creek then return after a break. Optional lunch at Scooter's Smokehouse 11825 US Highway 285 Suite B Conifer, CO 80433.  Directions  to ride start from 285 and C470 go south on 285 (toward the mountains) 14 miles, turn right where the sign says Foxton Road, Go a short distance and turn left and go under 285, the road winds and comes to a “T”, go left. Go about 12 miles all the way to the end of Foxton Road, At the River go left and continue for 5 miles to the trailhead across from the historic South Platte Hotel.

Friday, June 11th: 

9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H3-24-Frisco (Elevation Gain = 1171’) Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE FREE ICE CREAM TOUR OF LAKE DILLON. We will meet at the Summit Middle School parking lot in Frisco and ride the multi-use trail around Lake Dillon toward Keystone. We will then climb the Swan Mountain bike path to the top and enjoy the incredible view. Next we will enjoy the fabulous downhill, completing a circle back to Frisco where DBTC will purchase ice cream for all riders at the Foote Sweet Shoppe. Directions to Summit Middle School, 158 School Rd, Frisco: Drive westbound from Denver on I-70 to Exit 203 and take the roundabout exit that leads south onto the bridge crossing I-70. Continue south on Summit Blvd. (Hwy 9) for .8 miles to the stoplight intersection of School Rd. & CR 1040. Turn left onto School Rd. and look for DBTC members in the parking lot.


Saturday, June 12th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-23 SW Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) behind the McDonald’s at Sheridan and Hampden. We’ll head west but we will avoid going over the dam by heading up Kipling then over to C470 trail. There is a great downhill back to Lowell and Bear Valley. 

10:30AM, MTB, P2, T2, Ridgeline Open Space.  Join Cathy Leibowitz and Jim Black for a ride in the Ridgeline Open Space. The Ridgeline trail involves a good deal of climbing (and descending) as it winds through and over valleys, ridgelines, open grassland and Gambel oak groves.  The plan is to ride clockwise around the outside loop. That is about 9.5 miles, but there are many opportunities for shortcuts or bailouts.  It is strongly suggested that riders check out the trail map in advance and even bring a copy.  The map is available athttp://crgov.com/DocumentCenter/View/296/Ridgeline-Open-Space-Map-2020-PDF?bidId=.  On the other hand, any gluttons for punishment can add mileage by connecting via a pedestrian overpass to the trail network at Philip S. Miller Park on the east (seems like south) side of Wolfensberger Road. THE FOOD:  Afterward, a picnic in the parking lot.  Bring a chair and food and drink for yourself. THE DIRECTIONS: I-25 south to exit 184 at Castle Rock (Meadows Parkway).  West about 2.2 miles to Coachline Road.  Left (south) about 0.5 miles to Foothills Drive.  Right (west) about 0.4 miles to Clear Sky Way (just past the school).  Left (south) for three short blocks to just south of the school.  Turn left (east) into the Bison Park parking lot. (Ochre Drive is on your right opposite the parking lot entrance.)

 

Sunday, June 13th:

8:30 AM (was 9:00 AM)  LEISURE H1/H2-23-NW.  Coal Creek Trail Meet Marcy Rodney 720-985-3403 at the Louisville Community Park, (955 Bella Vista Dr, just south of Main St.) We will gather in the parking lot on the east side.   We are riding along the Coal Creek Trail from old town Louisville to Briggs St. in the heart of old Erie, there and back 23 miles.   This is a dirt and gravel trail, with rolling hills and a couple bigger ones. However we will be taking it at an 8 to 10 mile an hour average pace.  You can cut out the first hill by meeting us at the Aquarius Trailhead on Empire Road where there is a beautiful view of the Front Range.  This is a mile into the ride; we will wait there 5 minutes for anyone starting there and then continue.  The ride will take you along Coal Creek, past farm fields and a solar garden, near the Erie Airport, and into the town of Erie where you'll find the Fox Dog coffee shop.  This is a leisure ride, with stops to look at the views, talk about local history, and catch our breath at the tops of those hills. Bathrooms in  Louisville and Erie.    Bring a lock for the coffee stop.  The ride starts/ends next to Old Town Louisville, where you'll have ample opportunity to picnic in the park, check out Sweet Cow ice cream, Moxie's Bakery, or Ebike of Colorado, all within walking distance of our start.  Ride capped at 6.  Contact Marcy ahead of time for more detail at mrodney@rslresearch.com

9:00 AM INT-H2-38 NW Welcome Donald Schmertz back! Join Donald roadrider80226@yahoo.com at the parking lot across from the Phillips gas station (Morrison RD. & Rooney Rd) to ride to Nixon’s at Hudson Gardens for Lemonade. There is some climbing early but mostly downhill from Willow Springs to Bear Creek. We will have a some climbing back to the start.


Monday June 14th:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-25-NW. Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Prospect Park (44th & Robb St) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to Easley Rd, which we will take to the Ralston Creek Trail.  We will then ride the entire length of the Ralston Creek Trail to the Clear Creek Trail which we will take back to the park.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterwards.


June 15th thru June 17th

Indian Creek Campout and MTB Rides.  Darrel Deering (303-903-0239) is leading 3 rides out of the Indian Creek Campground.   He will be camping there the nights of June 15th and 16th.You cannot make reservations to camp at Indian Creek so come before noon to secure a camping spot.  Camp and ride all three days or come for the day for one ride.  The campground is only a 17 minute drive from Sedalia.  Info about the campground can be found at:https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/psicc/recarea/?recid=12951 .


Tuesday, June 15th

9:00AM FUN-H2-22-NW  Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Crown Hill Park (26th & Garrison) for a ride to Wash Park.  We will ride through neighborhoods to the Cherry Creek Trail, which we will take to Wash Park.  After riding around the park and taking a break we will return via the same route.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterwards.

10:00 AM, MTB, P1, T1.5, Easy Cooler Lunch Ride - Flying J Ranch Park.  The Easy Cooler Tuesday Lunch Rides are organized by Liz Cameron (303-619-7897).   These are Show’nGo Rides:  The folks who show up decide what to ride.   A ride is scheduled every Tuesday thru the summer.  Look at Meetup.com under the DBTC group for location and time.  Today’s ride is at Flying J Ranch near Conifer.  Meet at the main trailhead (north lot). DIRECTIONS: From C-470 go south on US 285 approximately 12.5 miles to Aspen Park. Exit at Barkley Road and go left onto Barkley for a half-mile to County Road 73. Go right on County Road 73 for about three-fourths of a mile to the Flying J Ranch Park sign. Turn left into the park and travel a half-mile to the trailhead parking lot. 11:00 AM, MTB, P2, T2.5, Indian Creek – Ringtail.  This is the first ride from the Indian Creek Campground.   Darrell Deering will lead this ride on the Ringtail Trail to the old cabin and return on the 800 trail back to the campground.  If you’re planning on camping, give yourself time to claim a campsite before the ride.  POSTRIDE:  Bring refreshments and a chair (if you’re just there for the day).   DIRECTIONS:  Take U.S. Highway 85 south to Sedalia, then take Highway 67. The Indian Creek complex is located less than a mile west of the Rampart Range Road Junction on Highway 67.  There is a small fee to park for the day.

 

Wednesday, June 16th:

TIME CHANGE 10:00 AM FUN-H1-20 SE Meet Suzy Ward (720-355-3268) another ice cream adventure . We’ll start at the Village Greens Park (Dayton and Union by Cherry Creek Reservoir) and ride to Cold Stone Creamery in Aurora for ice cream (bring $).

8:30 AM Leisure H1-15-20-SE Meet Julie Brown, 303-947-7908, in the Parking Lot at Bible Park. (From Yale and Monaco, go east and turn south into the parking lot.) This is an out-and-back heading east on the Highline Canal. We will ride to Fairmount Cemetery to view some of the 59 varieties of heritage roses.   Bring lunch and a chair for a picnic after the ride. Please arrive early, as we will leave at the designated time. (FYI--There are restrooms at Bible Park.)

10:00 AM, MTB, P2, T2.5, Indian Creek – 800 Trail.  This is the second ride from the Indian Creek Campground.   Darrell Deering will lead this ride on the 800 Trail.  POSTRIDE:  Bring refreshments and a chair (if you’re just there for the day).   DIRECTIONS:  Take U.S. Highway 85 south to Sedalia, then take Highway 67. The Indian Creek complex is located less than a mile west of the Rampart Range Road Junction on Highway 67.  There is a small fee to park for the day.


Thursday, June 17th

9:00 FUN PLUS H-2-28 SW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) cell at the west end of the parking lot for the Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood 80110). We will ride the South Platte to Chatfield State Park, up the dam over to the marina then return. Bring a lunch for after the ride there is a shelter. 

10:00 AM, MTB, P2, T2.5, Indian Creek – 800 Trail.  This is the final ride from the Indian Creek Campground.  Ride the Ringtail trail to the pinnacle rock south of Roxborough Park for lunch, head back same way. POSTRIDE:  Bring refreshments to socialize, then pack for home.  DIRECTIONS:  Take U.S. Highway 85 south to Sedalia, then take Highway 67. The Indian Creek complex is located less than a mile west of the Rampart Range Road Junction on Highway 67.  There is a small fee to park for the day.


Friday, June 18th:

8:00 AM FUN+-H3-26-NW/SW-1355' elev gain. CROWN HILL LOONEY ROONEY LOOP! Meet 07:45am, Depart 8:00am.  Join Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510), at Crown Hill Park, 26th & Garland in Wheat Ridge.  Ride SW on bike friendly roads & trails to Rooney Road & Dinosaur Ridge climbs, zip thru Morrison, then pedal Kumpfmiller Road in Bear Creek Park to Morrison Road & return via Garrison. Bring $ for a "Taste of Danish" stop. Pace 10-14mph.  Limit 7 riders, including leader. Bring masks. We will do an out and back, heading North on the paved bike trail and then East going toward Downtown) . We will grab a coffee (Iced preferably) before we head back at Starbucks and maybe sit near the Confluence of the 2 rivers! Meet at the bench in the parking lot just east of the PEDAL bike-shop next to the bike trail.


10:00 AM, MTB, P2, T2/3, Lair O’the Bear Meet Steve Thomas (303-419-2531) to ride on the Bear Creek Trail to Myers Gulch Rd and back, approximately 12 miles. There are some technical sections with good single track in between. Meet at the Lair O’ the Bear parking lot at 10:00AM. Take Hwy 74 west out of Morrison about 4 miles to the parking area turnoff on the left. Bring snacks, drinks and chairs for after the ride at the park.


Saturday, June 19th:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-30 N (774 feet of elevation gain) – THE HIDDEN GEMS OF THORNTON!!! Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this brand new Hidden Gems adventure around Thornton and other nearby areas highlighted by Clear Creek, Platte River (including the infamous Thornton Ponds,) backwards on the Highline Canal, HWY 36 Trail, and Little Dry Creek. To do this loop right we need to go 30 miles but it will be well worth the effort. (We will have plenty of time as it is the longest day of the year!) We will meet at Twin Lakes Park (west of Broadway on 70th Ave). Bring food for a post-ride picnic lunch at beautiful Twin Lakes Park.


Sunday, June 20th:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25 +-NE  Each Sunday meet DBTC riders at Cake Crumbs Bakery and Coffee shop, located at 2216 Kearney Street, Denver. These rides will be Show N GO. Each Sunday we pick a different route and the distances vary from 20 to 30 miles.


Monday, June 21st:

9:00 AM FUN-H2-25-NW  Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Crown Hill Park (26th & Garrison) for a ride south to the Stone House and then east along the Bear Creek Trail connecting to the South Platte Trail.  We will then ride north to REI and then back to the start via the Highlands and Wheat Ridge neighborhoods.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterwards.


Tuesday, June 22nd: 

7:00 AM INT-H3+-31-W-2533' elev gain. PROSPECT LOOKOUT LOOP! Meet 7:00am; DEPART 7:15am. Join Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510), at Prospect Park, 44th & Robb St., Wheat Ridge, back parking lot near bike path.  From Prospect Park in Wheat Ridge, ride Clear Creek Trail to Golden, climb and go over Lookout Mountain onto Hwy 40. East to Heritage Square and pick up Kinney Run Trail to Hwy 6 trail. Pedal thru School of Mines campus to Clear Creek Trail and return. Limit 7 riders, including leader.  Bring masks.  REGISTER BY TEXT to leader by Monday, June 22. This ride is rated Advanced in DBTC Ride With GPS Club library due to distance/elevation; expect slow, steady pace with occasional stops. 10:00 AM, MTB, Easy Cooler Lunch Ride - Staunton State Park The Easy Cooler Tuesday Lunch Rides are organized by Liz Cameron (303-619-7897).   These are Show’nGo Rides:  The folks who show up decide what to ride.   A ride is scheduled every Tuesday thru the summer.  Look at Meetup.com under the DBTC group for location and time.  Today’s ride is at Staunton State Park south of Conifer.  There are many trails from P2, T2 all the way to P3.5, T3.5.  DIRECTIONS:  Take US Highway 285 south to Shaffers Crossing, about 6 miles west of Conifer. The actual off ramp sign from Hwy 285 says, "Shaffers Crossing/ Elk Creek Road.  It's 30 minutes from the intersection of Hwy 285 and Kipling to the parking lot.  Turn north on Elk Creek Road and follow the signs 1.5 miles to the park entrance.  A couple of hundred feet past the park fee station ($9 per vehicle), make a sharp right and go down to the smaller parking lot.   FOOD: Bring snacks and a chair for a parking lot picnic.  There is even a picnic table.

 

Wednesday, June 23rd:

9:00 AM FUN-H2/H3-25 SW Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) behind the McDonald’s at Sheridan and Hampden. We’ll head to the Tech Center on various trails. We have to climb some hills and there are sections on the Highline Canal (pea gravel), and then we’ll have our morning latte Compliments of DBTC and loop back to Bear Valley. It is a beautiful ride and we get to have a wonderful downhill back to Bear Valley. Picnic in Bear Valley. Last year this ride was cancelled three times for weather and again in March AND May - let’s hope we have better luck this time. Fifth time's the charm?

 

Thursday, June 24:

9:00 AM LEISURE  H1/H2-20-SE Cherry Creek Trail and Piney Creek Trail.  Meet Jill McMahon (303 888-0314 cell) at the Arapahoe Rd Trailhead for the Cherry Creek Trail (just east of Jordan Road on the south side of the street.)  We will ride north into Cherry Creek Park and turn east on the Piney Creek Trail.  We will ride to a point just past E 470 and turn around for a total of about 20 miles.  Bring a snack and money for lunch at a local restaurant.

 

9:00 AM Fun-H2-25-600ft. NW  Join Dave Simonson (505-670-5162) for a Gravel ride mostly on the coal creek and rock creek trails.  There will be some dirt roads and a little low traffic streets.  The trails are firm crusher fines.  I have ridden short distances on them with my road bike with narrow tires, but a 28 mm tire or wider would be easier.  Meet at the parking lot for the East Interlocken Park and Disc Golf Course.  The Park is on the South side of Interlocken Blvd. (also called Airport Way).  Interlocken Blvd can be reached from Hwy 128.  We will plan to stop for coffee during the ride.

 

Friday, June 25th:

8:00 AM FUN-H2-28-NW-1100' elev gain. ARVADA ARROWHEAD! Meet 07:45am, Depart 8:00am. Join Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510), at Anderson Park in Wheat Ridge, 44th & Field St., back parking lot near big pavilion.  Ride an arrowhead-shaped loop around Arvada on bike paths and bike-friendly roads. Bring $ for an optional beverage OR ice cream stop along the way. Pace 10-14mph. Limit 7 riders, including leader. REGISTER BY TEXT to leader by Thursday, June 24. Bring masks. POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER:

9:15 AM FUN-H3-24 NW (Elevation Gain = 800/1100 feet) Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for the award winning Tour De Boulder ride that includes a free JUGGLING and MAGIC presentation. The ride will concentrate on the Boulder Creek, Skunk Creek and Bear Creek paths that are pretty flat but we will take Boulder Creek a little ways up into the foothills before we turn around (Those who do not wish to may wait at the park). The adventure begins at the parking lot near the jungle gym rocket at Scott Carpenter Park in Boulder at the SW corner of 30th ST and Arapahoe Avenue. Be there or be trapizoidal!

 

Sunday, June 27th:

9:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25 +-NE  Each Sunday meet DBTC riders at Cake Crumbs Bakery and Coffee shop, located at 2216 Kearney Street, Denver. These rides will be Show N GO. Each Sunday we pick a different route and the distances vary from 20 to 30 miles.


Monday, June 28th:

9:00 AM FUN-H3-28-NW  Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Prospect Park (44th & Robb) for a ride west on the Clear Creek Trail to Easley Rd.  We will ride over the Arvada Reservoir and then ride the entire length of the Ralston Creek Trail connecting to the Clear Creek Trail west back to Prospect Park.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterwards.


Tuesday, June 29th:

7:30 AM FUN PLUS-H3-29-NW-1291' elev. gain. "SCRUMPTIOUS FUN BLUNN RUN!"  Meet 07:30am. DEPART 07:40am. Join Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510) at Anderson Park, 44th & Field St, Wheat Ridge--first parking lot on left.  Clear Creek Trail west to Tucker Gulch, north on Hwy 93 to Van Bibber Trail.  North for climb over Blunn (aka Arvada) Reservoir, Ralston Creek Trail into Arvada for Ice Cream stop, compliments of DBTC, and return. Trails and bike-friendly streets. Easy/Mod pace. Bring masks. 9:00 AM LEISURE H1-16-NE Meet Dave Noble (home 303-694-2008, cell 303-906-3163 - day of ride) at Riverdale Golf Course to ride 7 miles north on the Platte River trail to Brighton and back with an option to ride south for another 5 miles and back.  Afterwards we'll have lunch on the patio of the golf course.  (Directions depend on where you are, so check your computer, but I usually head east from I-25 on 104th for 2.8 miles and then north on Riverdale road for 4.9 miles to the golf course, being careful to stay on Riverdale road through the traffic circles.)

Follow Parmalee Gulch Road till just past Parmalee Gulch Park. Turn right on Picutis, follow till right turn on Nambe, then right turn on Mt. Falcon Road.   POSTRIDE:   Bring a chair and food for a post ride picnic in the parking lot.

TIME CHANGE 10:00 AM FUN-H1-20 SE Meet Suzy Ward (720-355-3268) for the last ICE CREAM ride in this series. We’ll start at the Arapahoe Road Trailhead and ride to Butterfields in Parker for ice cream.
