Friday, October 1st

9:30 AM FUN PLUS–H3–21-NW - Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) THE HIDDEN GEMS OF LOUISVILLE!!! (Elevation Gain = 1225 feet) This exciting ride full of twists and turns uses the newest portion of the HWY 36 trail that goes west from Interlocken into Boulder then loops back through Louisville and Superior using some interesting secret trails including the Double Lombard Street Experience and the famous Black Hole of Louisville! See you at the SW corner of the Safeway parking lot at the Rock Creek village Shopping Center in Superior for this tour of the trails of Superior, Louisville, and South Boulder (with a few roads mixed in as required). Rock Creek village is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Road Superior, CO. 80027.)


Saturday, October 2nd:

CARAMEL APPLE RIDES!

Lunch at Ruby Hill Park from 11:30-12:30 . 1200 W Florida Ave, Denver, CO 80223 (shelters at the top of the hill just off Sanderson Gulch Trail – turn in at Florida and Osage OR at W. Mexico Ave. parking lot and go up the hill to the shelters. Do not enter at Levitt Pavilion).

7:30 AM FUN PLUS PLUS-H2-66 miles NW Meet in Lyon’s Park in Golden Now that it has cooled off, let’s start the fall off right with the METRIC CENTURY 2021 EXPERIENCE!!! Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at Lion’s Park in Golden and we will ride the loop counter clockwise by going south through Colo. School of Mines to Hwy. 93 & 19th St. to the C-470 trail south to Chatfield Reservoir east to the Platte River trail and north to Ruby Hill. After we partake in the picnic we will then continue north on the Platte River Trail to Clear Creek Trail where we will go west back to Lions Park in Golden, Strategic breaks will be located throughout the ride with primary stops at the Morrison Phillips 66, Hudson Gardens, REI, and of course the picnic at Ruby Hill.

8:30 FUN PLUS H-2-26 SW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674). We will ride from Ruby Hill Park to the South Platte up Dartmouth Ave. to Eisenhower Park then ride the Highline canal to Big Dry Creek then return on the South Platte. Limit: 10 riders.

9:00 AM LEISURE H1-18-S Meet Dave Noble 303-694-2008, 303-906-3163 (cell for day of ride only) for a loop north on the Platte River trail, southeast on the Cherry Creek Trail, through Washington Park to Dartmouth, and back to the Platte River trail and Ruby Hill for a club sponsored lunch. Please arrive at 8:45 for a prompt start at 9.

9:00 AM LEISURE H1/H2-16-SW. Meet Sue Walters (cell 720 989-4904) for a Loop ride from Ruby Hill Park west on the Sanderson Gulch Trail to Tennyson where we will go South by Harvey Park and then west on Yale. That will take us to the Stone House where we will connect with the Bear Creek Trail. We will go east to the Platte Trail and back to Ruby Hill Park. Please arrive at 8:45 for a prompt start at 9.

9:00 AM From Ruby Hill FUN-H2-19-NW +464 Join Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) for an easy loop on the Platte River Trail to Sloans Lake (okay, you do have wind through Mile High then ride out 23rd Ave in the bike lane). We’ll come back on Lakewood Gulch trail.

9:00 AM Meet at Crown Hill FUN-H2-26-NW- +998’ “CARAMEL APPLE PICNIC Loop Ride” MEET 09:00; ROLL 09:15. Register via TEXT to leader by October 1. Take a bite out of this ride and join Marilyn Choske (text - 303-905-8510), at Crown Hill Park (26th & Garland) for this “Ruby Apple” twist on a DBTC picnic ride. We’ll do a little westside warmup from Crown Hill Park in Wheat Ridge on bike- friendly streets and paths and then aim ourselves in a southeasterly direction to access the Weir and Sanderson gulch trails that will place us at Ruby Hill Park for the DBTC Caramel Apple Picnic festivities. After lunching and munching, resume our northbound loop riding on the Platte River Trail, then head west to our starting point and exercise a little caloric burn on slight uphills! We’ve got miles and elevation numbers, but we’ll take it easy at 10-14 mph pace. Bring a mask just in case.

10:30 AM (or whatever you prefer), MTB, P2, T1, Ruby Hill Park. Before the Caramel Apple Picnic, take a couple laps around the park. Ruby Hill has a 1.7 mile mountain bike trail designed with rollers, banks, rocky sections, even a couple of switchbacks. Also check out the bike park (if it is not too busy) at the south end of Ruby Hill. This is not a lead ride or even a Show and Go. Just hop on your bike and go! Park at the designated lot for the picnic. To go to the picnic you must sign up by September 29th at DBTC.ORG.


Sunday, October 3rd:

9:30 AM FUN PLUS-H2-25 +-NE  Each Sunday meet DBTC riders at Cake Crumbs Bakery and Coffee shop, located at 2216 Kearney Street, Denver. These rides will be Show N GO. Each Sunday we pick a different route and the distances vary from 20 to 30 miles.


Monday, October 4th:

9:30AM FUN PLUS-H1-21-NW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at Prospect Park (44th & Robb) for a ride east on the Clear Creek Trail to Twin Lakes Park.  After a break we will return via the same route.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterwards

 

Tuesday, October 5th:

9:00 FUN+-H2/3-25-W-+1370’ elev. “Looney Rooney LoopMEET 09:00 AM, ROLL 09:15 AM.  Register via TEXT to the leader by October 4.  Join Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510) at Crown Hill Park, 26th & Garland in Wheat Ridge, for this ambitious leg-burner, heart-pumping LOOP ride. Pedal west thru neighborhoods to the Golden area where we’ll ride Rooney Road to the Dinosaur Cut and into Morrison. Enter Bear Creek Park and ride Kumpfmiller Road thru Morrison Road to Estes/Garrison north to our start. Ride will not go if it is rainy or snowy(!) or the forecast is for rain (or snow!) in the morning; call the leader if in doubt. 9:30 AM FUN-H2-20-NW MAJESTIC FAREWELL SURPRISE RIDE Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at the Majestic View Park North parking lot (north on Wadsworth to W 72nd Ave, west on 72nd, just west of Carr on the south side. THIS IS NOT THE ENTRANCE at GARRISON ST. nor 71st ST!) The ride will go west on Ridge Road and van Bibber Creek Trail, north on the new Blunn Trail and then return on most of the length of Ralston Creek Trail. The theme of this ride is a “farewell to summer” so a surprise to remember the 2019 biking season will be provided to all participants during the Ralston Creek Golf Course break!

 

Wednesday, October 6th:

9:00 A.M. LEISURE: H1-16-SE.  Meet Julie Brown (303-947-7908) in the Parking Lot at Bible Park. (From Yale and Monaco, go east and turn south into the parking lot.) This is an out-and-back heading north on the Highline Canal. We will ride to Fairmount Cemetery to view the fabulous fall colors!  Bring a snack and money for lunch after the ride.  Please arrive early, as we will leave at the designated time

Thursday, October 7th:

10:00 AM FUN–H1–21-Downtown Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this Free Beverage Fall Ride. We will meet at the City of Cuernavaca Park downtown (Exit at 20th Ave going east away from the mountains. Turn right over the bridge onto Little Raven, then turn right onto 19th Street, then right onto Platte River which becomes Rockmont Drive, and go until you dead end into the parking lot) for this fantastic ride down the Cherry Creek Bike Path to the 4 Mile Historic House and beyond. A beverage of your choice will be provided to all riders at the break on the return voyage at the REI Starbucks where we will check out the new landscaped sitting area.


Friday, October 8th:

9:30 AM FUN-H2-25-SW. RIDE TO PRIMAL Meet  Dale Trone 303 981-9161 at Green Gables Park (1898 S Garrison, Lakewood) Basically the route is Florida (with bike lanes) to Cook Rec center then Cherry Creek trail to Primal Wear's Warehouse sale If participants desire we can add a few extra miles. Return via Cherry Creek Trail  and Wash Park back to Florida


Saturday, October 9th:

9:30 AM FUN PLUS/INT - H1 26 Miles N. Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) cell at Twin Lakes Park, 300 West 70th (just west of Broadway). Ride east along Clear Creek and then north along the South Platte River to Riverdale Park (Adams County FairGrounds). Then return the same way.

Monday, October 11th:

10:00AM FUN-H2-26-NW  Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Twin Lakes Park (west of Broadway on 70th, 300 W. 70th) for a ride east on the Clear Creek Trail to the South Platte Trail, which we will take north to Riverdale Park (Adams County FairGrounds).  After a break we will return via the same route.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterwards.

1:30 PM FUN PLUS-H2-20 Meet Janet Martel (303-929-5950, jmartel98@gmail.com) at Reynolds Landing, 6745 S Santa Fe Dr, Littleton: ride north on Platte River Trail to Dartmouth.  East of Dartmouth on a dedicated bike lane.  We will cross Colorado Blvd. at Mamie Eisenhower Park.  South of Dahlia to Quincy.  West to Clarkson.  We will meet up with the Dry Gulch trail and take it back to South Platte and then to Reynolds Landing. One hill at Broadway and Dartmouth but mostly flat. Mostly all bike paths or dedicated bike lanes.


Tuesday, October 12th:

8:30 AM FUN+-H2/3-26.6-W-+1325' elev.  "The INFINITY-to-INFINITUS Loop *Event*!"  MEET 08:30am, ROLL 08:45am.  Leader needs a head count pre-ride and it's important that riders TEXT RSVP to 303-905-8510.  Register by October 11, 3pm.  Join Marilyn Choske at the Infinitus Pizza Pie rear parking lot, 5807 W. 38th Ave, Wheat Ridge.  From the Pie lot, we'll maneuver our way to Clear Creek Trail west to Golden and do a couple of climbs out there (Tucker, Hwy 6).  After we salute and pass the Taj Mahal structure, we'll enjoy a somewhat downhill spree back to Wheat Ridge.  Then it's another climb up to Crown Hill Park and tool around the lake over to 32nd Ave.  Pedal thru neighborhoods and back to Infinitus for a well-deserved artisan pizza and beverage. (Bicyclists get a free soft drink.  Our group riders can opt for a stronger brew at Happy Hour prices.  Thank You Matt, the Manager!)  This ride may feel infinite but there IS an Infinitus pizza pie awaiting you at the end!  Bring $ to enjoy lunch.  Wear your DBTC jersey!

9:30 AM Leisure H1 19 NW  Meet Dave Noble (home 303-694-2008, cell day of ride 303-906-3163) at EB Rains Jr. Memorial Park near 1-25 and 120th for a loop ride on the Farmer's Highline and Big Dry Creek bike paths towards Standley Lake and back. (Directions to EB Rains Jr. Memorial Park from I-25 and 120th: East on 120th 1-2 streets to Grant, South on Grant 1/4-1/2 mile to park, and meet in the parking lot on the south side of the lake.)  Lunch afterwards at a restaurant.


Wednesday, October 13th:

9:30 FUN PLUS H-2-20 SW Meet Peter Woulfe(540-219-6674) cell at the west end of the parking lot for the Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood 80110). We will ride the South Platte to Chatfield State Park, up the dam. We will ride the paved part of the dam, then return via C-470 and the South Platte Trail.

4:00 PM, MTB, P2, T2, Green Mountain – Show’nGo. The folks who show up decide what to ride. Meet near the restroom at the west trailhead for Green Mountain. THE DIRECTIONS: Go west on Alameda over C-470 then right on Rooney Road. The parking area will be on the right. The address is 1000 S. Rooney Road, Lakewood, CO 80228. POST-RIDE: Riders choose. Perhaps the Red Rocks Beer Garden in Morrison? 

 

Thursday, October 14th:

10:00 FUN H1-24 West Meet Janet Martel (Jmartel98@gmail.com 303-929-5950) at the South Platte River, Foxton. Take Highway 285 south to exit for Foxton Road (county road 97). Follow the road past Reynolds Park Open Space to T Intersection at the river. Plenty of parking, questionable restrooms. (stop at Reynolds Park on drive for better restrooms). We will follow road SE for about 12 miles and return. All along the river are stunning rock formations, historic buildings. A combination of dirt and crumbly blacktop so best for hybrid or mountain bike. Flat, not elevation gain. We’ll have a lunch break at a campsite. There are a couple of outhouses along the way.


Friday, October 15th:

9:00 AM FUN+-H3-17.7-W-+1350' elev.  "West Triple Loop with Eyes on Danish!"  MEET 09:00am   Register only via TEXT to leader by September 16.  Meet Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510), at Green Gables Park, enter from Garrison, located between Wisconsin & Florida.  Pedal south and west on bike-friendly streets and climb to Dinosaur saddle; descend and climb into Red Rocks Park; descend into Morrison; enter Bear Creek Park and climb Kumpfmiller Road to exit the Park on the east.  Then the fun begins:  take Morrison Road to Kipling Street and enjoy (maybe!) your final climb. Bring $ to reward yourself with a tasty pastry at Taste of Denmark.  Short return to cars.  Pace: 7-14mph depending on uphill steeps!

 

Saturday, October 16th:

10:00 AM FUN-H2-25-S. CLEMENT PARK LOOP. Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) in the West Parking Lot behind the library. The Clement Park Loop is west along Lily Gulch Trail out to C-470, then on C-470 Trail south and east to the Platte River Greenway, returning to Clement Park via the Columbine Valley neighborhood.

Tuesday, October 19th:

9:00 AM FUN+-H2/3-30-W-1500’ elev gain. “Fun Blunn Run”  MEET 09:00am. Register via TEXT to the leader by October 18. 11:00AM, MTB, P2, T2, Marshall Mesa - Dirty Bismarck Loop.  Meet at the trail head at the southeast corner of Hwy 93/170 (Marshall Road) intersection. Park in the main trail head parking lot ($5 fee required) or in the dirt lot on north side of Marshall Road. The Dirty Bismark Loop about 15.7 miles with 940 ft vertical. Wednesday, October 20th:

10:00 AM FUN-H2to3-25 SW Meet Patty Gaspar(303-618-5069) at the Sheridan Library Parking lot west of Federal and Oxford.  We’ll head toward the rebuilt Bow Mar area and go to Bowles Lake, Grant Ranch to Wadsworth for a leisurely break at Whole Foods and back to Sheridan High School.  We’ll ride some hills and lots of ups and downs, some beautiful quiet streets and pleasant bike paths. 

 

10:00 AM LEISURE H1-21-NW.   Loveland Rec Trail Loop.  Meet Marcy Rodney cell 720-985-3403 at the Centennial Park, 100 S Taft Ave, Loveland. The city's scenic 21-mile loop recreation trail runs along the Big Thompson River corridor, over and under city streets, along irrigation canals and the west shore of Boyd Lake State Park, and through prairies and wetland meadows.  Loveland has great painted utility boxes!  Optional  lunch at a restaurant will follow the ride. RSVP to ride leader ahead of time for map and trip notes.


Thursday, October 21st:

9:30 FUN PLUS H-2-30 SW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) cell at the west end of the parking lot for the Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood 80110). We will ride the South Platte to Chatfield State Park, up the dam over to the marina then return. 


Friday, October 22nd:

8:45 AM FUN-H2-28-NW-1100' elev gain. *Final* ARVADA ARROWHEAD Ride! Meet 08:45am, Depart 09:00am.  Register only via TEXT to the leader by October 21.  Join Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510), at Anderson Park in Wheat Ridge, 44th & Field St., back parking lot near the big pavilion.  Ride an arrowhead-shaped loop around Arvada on bike paths and bike-friendly roads. Bring $ for an optional beverage stop along the way. Pace 10-14mph. Limit 8 riders, including leader. 

11:00 AM MTB T1, P2, approx. 14 miles, Highlands Ranch Backcountry Trails. Meet Steve Thomas (303-419-2531) at 11:00am to explore the numerous trail options available at the far south end of Highlands Ranch, including a portion of the Douglas County East-West Trail. All of the trails are smooth single track with no rocky areas, just lots of twists and turns and a few short climbs. We will meet at Pronghorn Park in Highlands Ranch. Go south on Broadway to Wildcat Reserve Pkwy. Go right on Wildcat Reserve and take the first left, Wethersfield Way. Go south on Wethersfield a short distance to Pronghorn Park, which will be on the right. Bring a snack to share after the ride.

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-23-NW Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE HIDDEN GEMS OF ARVADA. We have all experienced the traditional Arvada classic trails of Ralston Creek, Clear Creek, and Van Bibber. Check out this new route instead that explores Lake Arbor, the Pomona Lakes, the Arvada Fire Fighter’s Park, the backside of baseball, and other forgotten areas and is guaranteed to be an adventure! Meet at the SE corner of HWY 36 and 104th at the back side of the now closed Black Bear Diner, formally Quaker State and Lube Restaurant (10392 Reed St., Westminster, CO) by a hidden entrance to a hidden trail where the adventure will begin (and end).


Saturday, October 23th:

9:30 AM LEISURE H1-18-SE.AUTUMN COLORS ON THE HIGHLINE. Meet Helen Berkman (720-355-5687) at Mamie D. Eisenhower Park, 4300 W. Dartmouth Ave., for a classic fall ride on the Highline Canal to Greenwood Village and back. Bring lunch for a picnic afterwards at the park, weather permitting.


Sunday, October 24th:

10:00 AM INT- H2to3-28 NW Meet Donald Schmertz (roadrider80226@yahoo.com) at Prospect Park (44th & Robb). We will visit Ralston Reservoir, the lower lot at White Ranch then take a break at Higher Grounds in Golden.

 

Monday, October 25th:

10:00 AM FUN Plus-H2-17-NW. Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at Anderson Park (44th & Field).  We will ride the Clear Creek Trail west to Parfet Park in Golden for a break before returning via the same route.


Tuesday, October 26th:

MOVED TO WEDNEDAY (TOMORROW)

Come enjoy this NEW RIDE culminated by an outdoor, Halloween Party and Halloween display viewing in my front yard!  This ride will take us around the trails of Rock Creek, Interlocken and Broomfield highlighted by the new bike overpass between Interlocken and Broomfield leading to some beautiful trails!!!  We will meet at my house at the strategically-selected time so that we can finish up there as the sun begins to set. We will then put our bikes away and enjoy some Spooky drinks as we watch award winning Halloween display come to life!!! My address is 3015 Mica Court, Superior, Co. 80027. Please do not park in front of my house as that would block the display that we will be observing. (There is plenty of parking one block away in the cul-de-sac portion of Mica Court.)


Wednesday, October 27th:

10:00 AM FUN-H2/H3-25 SW Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) behind the McDonald’s at Sheridan and Dartmouth. We’ll head to the Tech Center on various trails. This is a beautiful fall ride. We must climb some hills and there are sections on the Highline Canal (pea gravel), and then we’ll have our morning latte COMPLIMENTS OF DBTC to celebrate the end of the season and loop back to Bear Valley. It is a beautiful ride, and we have a wonderful downhill back to Bear Valley. Bring lunch for a picnic after.

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-22-NW Scary Halloween Graveyard Ride, meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at Arvada park and ride, NW corner of Wadsworth Blvd and 55th for this tour of old Arvada graveyards.  Costumes are welcome but not required. There will be a ghoulish lunch afterwards for those who survive this haunting experience!


Friday, October 29th:

10:00 AM LEISURE  H1/H2-20 SE Cherry Creek Trail and Piney Creek Trail.  Meet Jill McMahon (303 888-0314 cell) at the Arapahoe Rd Trailhead for the Cherry Creek Trail (just east of Jordan Road on the south side of the street.)  We will ride north into Cherry Creek Park and turn east on the Piney Creek Trail.  We will ride to a point just past E 470 and turn around for a total of about 20 miles.  Bring a snack and money for lunch at a local restaurant.

11:00am MTB T2, P2 approx. 12 miles, Douglas County East-West Trail and Highlands Ranch Backcountry Trails. Meet Steve Thomas (303-419-2531) at 11:00am on Friday, Oct. 29 To explore the backcountry trails on the east side of Monarch Blvd. We will meet at the Grigs Road Pavilion parking lot located on Grigs Road/Daniels Park Rd. (see MTB Project or Google Maps for the parking lot location). If you use google earth, the coordinates of the lot are 39/30/14N, 104/56/28W.


Saturday, October 30th:

09:30 AM FUN-H2-20-NW-1100' elev gain. "Spooky Specter Halloween Ride" MEET 09:30am. Register via TEXT to leader by October 29 (HBKC). Join Marilyn Choske (303-905-8510) at Prospect Park, W. 44th Ave & Robb St, Wheat Ridge; park in the back lot near the trail. The weather promises to be another BOO-tiful autumn day, the route isn't TOO scary, and you're welcome to dress "appropriately" for halloween-ing! Be sure your capes are tucked in so they don't get caught in your broomsticks as we ramble west to Golden and thru town in a counter-clockwise loop. Near the end (uh-oh), DBTC offers a beverage treat to each rider--truly, it's no trick!

11:00 AM, MTB, P2-3, T2, Waterton Canyon. Jeff Baysinger (303-969-9241).One of our favorite rides! Meet by 10:50 at the Waterton Canyon parking lot. This ride has the first 6.3 miles along the access road to Strontia Springs Dam, climbing around 600 feet. Often bighorn sheep are seen along the road. Just past the dam, get on the single track Colorado Trail and ride to Lenny’s Bench. This next 1.75 mile stretch climbs about 500 feet. The descent is always a kick. Waterton Canyon is about 4 miles south on Wadsworth from C-470.

10:30 AM,  MTB, P2.5, T2, Air Force Academy.   Meet Janet Martel (303-929-5950,  jmartel98@gmail.com)  at the  United States Air Force Academy for the Falcon Loop which is a 13 mile single track loop. Details at https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/269633/usafa-falcon-trail .  Directions:  South on I25 to NORTH entrance Air Force Academy.  Note you will pass through security and be required to show a picture ID. West through security on N. Gate Blvd.  Left on Stadium Blvd.  Right on Academy Drive.  There will be a parking area on the right.  There might be restrooms?  Water? unknown so bring plenty. IF colder than 45 degrees or snowing/raining we will postpone.
