Tuesday, April 1st:

CANCELLED DUE TO DETERIORATING WEATHER FORECAST

10:00 AM FUN H2-20-NW Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at Prospect Park for the OFFICIAL FIRST RIDE OF SPRING APRIL FOOLS DAY RIDE!! Experience this classic DBTC ride on the trails of Ralston Creek and Clear Creek as we knock the cobwebs off of our equipment and get our biking legs back! All riders will be awarded with a special spring surprise - NO FOOLIN!!!

Wednesday, April 2nd:

10:30 FUN PLUS H-2-23 miles SW Meet Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at Reynolds Landing parking lot (6745 S. Santa Fe Dr). We will ride the South Platte, go up Dartmouth Ave. to  Dahlia Street, Happy Canyon proceed to Quincy Ave. on to Clarkson to a trail behind Englewood High School some neighborhood streets and then return on the South Platte. Bring your lunch to socialize after the ride.


Thursday April 3rd:

10:30 FUN PLUS H3-36 miles ~1200 gain SE Meet Diane Short at the parking area on the shoulder of Deer Creek and Wadsworth.  As requested, the Sedalia Bakery is back - ride through Chatfield Park, Sterling Ranch neighborhoods to Sedalia and then return through Louviers.The ride depends on wind conditions.  If there are high winds, the ride will be cancelled or moved to another location.  If questions call 303-271-9642 (landline)


Saturday, April 5th:

CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

10:00 AM FUN-H2-18/23-NW- Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for THE SPACE, TIME, 9/11 RIDE or THE HIDDEN GEMS OF BROOMFIELD! This adventure begins near the SE corner of Sheridan and 120th at the new Whole Foods in Westminster (1/2 mile east of Sheridan at Vrain and 120th.) Address is 4451 Main Street. We will take secret trails around Broomfield and Westminster where we will experience three incredible hidden displays including THE SOLAR SYSTEM, a brief history of GEOLOGIC COLORADO TIME, and a 9/11 MONUMENT. (This ride has an escape option at the 18 mile marker for riders who run out of time and/or steam.) Possible lunch afterwards at Whole Foods. This adventure has received rave reviews with 4 and a half stars from the ride critics!

Monday, April 7th:

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H1-19-SW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at the Stone House (Estes & Yale along the Bear Creek Trail).  We will ride east on the Bear Creek Trail to the South Platte Trail, taking it south to Nixon’s Coffee for a break.  We will return via the same route.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.

10:00 AM INT-3,000 ft gain- 26 miles W NEW RIDE LEADER! Come join Sandra Huzyk (303-807-1308)in Parfet Park in Golden to climb Lookout Mountain., take a break in the parking lot where the porta potties are, and then continue on to Genesee Mountain where we take a break and regroup. Then begin the long downhill run through Genesee, Mt. Vernon Canyon, Kinney Run/Deadman’s Gulch trails, and back to Parfet. It will be some version of this:https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49970869


Wednesday, April 9th:

10:00 AM FUN-H2/H3-25 miles SW Latte Ride Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) behind the McDonald’s at Sheridan and Dartmouth. My old commute - we’ll head to the Tech Center on various trails. We must climb some hills and there are sections on the Highline Canal (pea gravel), and then we’ll have our morning latte COMPLEMENTS OF DBTC and loop back to Bear Valley. It is a beautiful ride, and we get to have a wonderful downhill back to Bear Valley.

 

Thursday, April 10th: 

10:00 AM-FUN-H1-22 miles NW Meet Simone Caruthers (720-636-2884) at Prospect Park(44th & Robb for a ride east on  the Clear Creek Trail to Twin Lakes Park. After a break we will return  via the same route. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterwards


Friday, April 11th:

10:00 AM. FUN PLUS H2-NW-23 miles and 1100’ gain. Standley Lake/Westminster Hills Open Space Loop REGISTER BY TEXT to ride leader Lauren Delle (970-903-8409) no later than 5pm April 10. We will meet in the large parking lot of the bike-friendly Colorado Tap House at 9:45 am 14982 West 69th Ave, Arvada, CO 80007. There is direct-trail access to Ralston Creek bike path from the Tap House. This ride will be 13 miles gravel/ATB (54%), 10 miles road/bike path (46%). Gravel path compatible tires will be best for this ride.  We will ride a total of 23 miles, starting at the Colorado Tap House and riding on Ralston Creek bike path, to Simms St bike lane up to and through Standley Lake Regional Park and Westminster Hills Open Space, taking in the beautiful panoramic views and opportunities for wildlife. We will return via the same route. Bring money for a post-ride coffee or snack at the Colorado Tap House. Ride limited to 8 riders including leader. 


Saturday, April 12th

10:00 AM  FUN - H2 - 19 SE Meet Mark Fields (302-465-4525) at the western end of the parking park in front of Cook Recreation Center in Cook Park (7100 Cherry Creek Drive South) for an out-and-back ride on the Cherry Creek Trail down to Cherry Creek State Park and around the reservoir. Mostly gently rolling terrain with a few brief climbs (657’ elevation change). Bring a sack lunch or snacks to enjoy together at Cook Park afterward.


Sunday, April 13th:

10:00 AM FUN-H2-22-NW - THE REALLY RADICAL RAT RACE RODENT RIDE.  Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) for this new ride that takes us around the trails of Rock Creek, Interlocken and Broomfield highlighted by the new bike overpass between Interlocken and Broomfield leading to never before seen trails!!! Come find out how this ride got it’s name. Meet at the SE corner of the Safeway parking lot at the Rock Creek Village Shopping Center in Superior. Rock Creek Village is centrally located in Superior at the NW corner of Coalton and Rock Creek Parkway (Address is 1601 Coalton Road Superior, CO. 80027.)


Monday, April 14th:

Tuesday, April 15th:

11:00 AM  MTB P2-T2  ANNUAL TAX DAY RIDE Join Jennifer Saxhaug (720-260-8595) and Jeff Baysinger. Enjoy a ride up Waterton Canyon to the dam or continue with Jeff up to Lenny’s Bench. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before ride time at the Audubon parking lot.  Afterwards we can enjoy lunch in the Audubon parking area.  Bring a chair and food.  This scheduled ride is known to happen on rain days.  Watch the meetup site for last minute cancellations.


Wednesday, April 16th:

10:00 AM FUN PLUS H-2-20 miles SW Meet  Peter Woulfe (540-219-6674) at Clement Park. Meet behind the library near the skateboard park. We will ride some quiet streets in the Columbine neighborhood to South Platte Canyon Rd., then to the C-470 trail, to Coal Mine Ave., to the Dutch Creek Trail, and return to Clement Park. Bring your lunch to socialize after the ride.

10:00 AM FUN-H2-25-S. CLEMENT PARK LOOP with a Twist. Patty is doing the ride in reverse Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) in the West Parking Lot behind the library. The Clement Park Loop is west along Lily Gulch Trail out to C-470, Some climbing but then cruise down on C-470 Trail and cut over and finish our sail down Deer Creek Road. A quick bump over the dam and then catch Mary Carter Greenway, returning to Clement Park via the Columbine Valley neighborhood.


Wednesday, April 16-18:

MTB Pueblo - Canon City MTB getaway, April 16-18 This is an informal getaway.  Attendees can go to the MeetUp site for information and to make a required RSVP.  Note there is no designated leader each day.  Riding is informal at three differing park locations.  People attending can choose their own trails.  They may be able to coordinate with others, per any comments in the MeetUp.  The adventure is up to you.


Thursday, April 17th:

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-19-SE Meet Susan Larson (720-207-7300) at Broncos Parkway Trailhead at Cherry Creek (behind Tagawa Gardens) for a ride north on the Cherry Creek Trail and around the reservoir. This is a beautiful ride around the reservoir with great views. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterwards

10:00 AM FUN PLUS H3- 27 miles, 1200 gain.   Meet Diane Short (202-271-9642, land) at the Stone House and ride through Pinehurst, Bow Mar to the King Soopers at Chatfield and Wadsworth.  Return through Grants Ranch.  I’m not on MeetUp. 


Saturday, April 19th:

10:00 AM FUN-H2-21-NW MAJESTIC PREMIERE EASTER RIDE Meet Jeff Krinsky (720-373-9107) at the Majestic View Park north parking lot (north on Wadsworth to W 72nd Ave, west on 72nd, just west of Carr on the south side. THIS IS NOT THE ENTRANCE at GARRISON ST. nor 71st ST!) This recently enhanced ride will go west on Ridge Road and van Bibber Creek Trail, north on the new Blunn Trail and then return on most of the length of Ralston Creek Trail. The theme of this ride is an “Easter Hello to spring” so a surprise to ring in the 2025 biking season will be provided to all participants during the Ralston Creek Golf Course break!

Monday, April 21st:

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H1-26-NW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Twin Lakes Park (west of Broadway at 70th Ave, 300 W. 70th) for a ride east on the Clear Creek Trail to the South Platte Trail, which we will take north to Riverdale Park.  After a break, we will return via the same route.  Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Tuesday, April 22nd: 

10:00 AM. Wednesday, April 23rd:

10:00 AM FUN-H2-20 miles SW Enjoy the Gardens Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Nixon’s Coffee Shop at Hudson Gardens. The parking lot for trail use is at the north end of Hudson Gardens behind the car wash on Maplewood Street. There is a short trail down to the coffee shop. You cannot ride your bike in the gardens. We’ll wander through BowMar South and Grant Ranch then streak down Pierce making a stop for cookies at my house; then down to the Bear Creek Trail back to the Gardens. Lunch on the patio - bring or buy. Then we can walk through the gardens and actually stop and smell the roses. 


Friday, April 25th:

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-24-SE Meet Susan Larson (720-207-7300) at Arapahoe Road Trailhead (.2 miles east on Arapahoe Rd from the Arapahoe Rd and S. Jordan Rd intersection) for a ride south on the Cherry Creek Trail and then east on the Sulpher Gulch Trail with a stop at Paperflower Park. This is an out and back ride. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.


Saturday, April 26th:

CLUB PICNIC at Broken Tee

We will ride the South Platte to the C-470 trail then to Clarkson St. We will go on a few quiet neighborhood streets in order to cross Arapahoe at a traffic light. From there we will go to the Highline canal and on to Big Dry Creek, then back to the South

9:00 LEISURE-H1-20 miles SW Join Karen Kelley (was Wayne Tomasello) for a pleasant pre-picnic ride on Little Dry Creek Trail through Cherry Hills Village to Highline Canal (gravel) to Big Dry Creek Trail.

10:00 AM FUN-H2-18 SW Meet Patty Gaspar (303-618-5069) at Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford, Englewood 80110). We’ll jump on the Platte Trail and then enjoy a shady ride up Big Dry Creek, along the Highline Canal, and back down Caley. There are a couple of climbs but only 614 feet and some of the trails are hardpack gravel. We’ll then wander back to enjoy the club picnic.


Monday, April 28th:

10:00 AM FUN PLUS-H2-20-SW Meet Merri Bruntz (303-517-9781) at Broken Tee Golf Course (2101 W. Oxford in Englewood, park on the west end of the parking lot). We will ride south on the South Platte Trail taking the road over the Chatfield Dam. At the top, we will have a break and ride the paved trail on the top of the dam before riding to the paved trail on the other side and back to the start via the South Platte Trail. Bring a sack lunch for a picnic afterward.

10:00 AM INT 25 miles, 2300 feet gain SW Meet Diane Short at the SW end of the Walmart parking lot (closest to the bike path) at Bowles and C-470. Ride through Ken Caryl, Willow Springs, Lyons Ridge, Willow Brook and back to do 3 little climbing loops in Ken Caryl and back on the bike path. If questions - 303-271-9642 (land). Tuesday, April 29th:

9:30 AM Leisure H2-20-SW Englewood/Littleton Taco Tuesday Ride SW Loop Meet Lin Hark (303-507-3502) at River Run Park (2101 W Oxford Ave, Access from Englewood’s Broken Tee Golf Course). We will ride a loop through Englewood, Littleton, Cherry Hills Village, and the Highline Canal. Part of the ride will be on the gravel trail along the Highline Canal. We will stop at a couple of parks. Bring a snack, a lock and money for an optional Taco Tuesday Lunch at Monaghan’s - oldest bar in Sheridan!

10:00 AM. FUN-H2-21-W-1034’ elev. gain “PEAKS-TO-PRAIRIE Out’N’Back” - Meet 10:00AM REGISTER BY TEXT to leader 303-905-8510 by Monday, April 28. Join Marilyn Choske at Wheat Ridge Rec Center in Wheat Ridge, 41st & Kipling, far north end parking lot nearest Kipling Street. Nice, no-rush, casual pace for this westbound loop to Golden and the Peaks-to-Prairie trail & return; let’s see how far and so far they’ve constructed the trail. Some hills up, some down! Bring $ for optional beverage/snack stop in Golden. No Meetup signups. Ride will not go if rainy/snowy or forecast is for morning precipitation. Call leader if in doubt.

10:00 AM MTB T2-P2 4-10 miles (shorter, easier, route is Quarry Trail) Join Jennifer Sax (720-260-8595) for a ride up Shoshonite Trail to the top of South Table Mountain. We will ride to the Dance Hall peak and hike the stairs to the high point for a photo. Then, you can pick which trail(s) to return to the Shoshonite Trail to descend back to your car. The trailhead is located across the street from Faith Lutheran Church at 17701 W. 16th Avenue. Google this address since we have not been to this trailhead. Parking is on the street. Wednesday, April 30th:

NEW RIDE #1 (SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE NEWSLETTER)

9:30 AM FUN-H2-25 SW Meet Patty Gaspar 303-618-5069 at Reynolds Landing, 6745 S Santa Fe Dr. (From Santa go west on Brewery Lane, toward the South Platte River, go past Breckenridge Brewery to the parking lot at the end of the road). We’ll ride the Platte River Trail to Chatfield; up the 470 Trail then check out the marina. We’ll enjoy a beautiful trail back to the dam, up and over then back to share our lunches at the pavilion.

NEW RIDE #2

9:45 AM INT-H4-26 W (2400 feet elevation gain) Ride the Evergreen Loop with Sandra Huzyk (303-807-1308). Meet at the Evergreen Lake Parking Lot.  We'll have a 6 mile warmup on Upper Bear Creek Rd. before regrouping at the Witter Gulch turnoff.  Then ride Witter Gulch and Stagecoach past Elk Meadow Park, and into the Hiwan-Interlochen roads south of the golf course.  It will be some version of this route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44509852 Lunch break at the Bergen Park King Soopers, then back via Kerr Gulch and Bear Creek Rd. Top elevation 8100'.  Bring layers.
